Madres: a cocktail bar on Anafi island
Τις δυο βραδιές που δουλέψαμε μαζί με το Δημήτρη και την Έφη στο madres, σε δυο από τα πιο πετυχημένα πάρτι του νησιού, είπα στον εαυτό μου, πως: ναι, o βασικότερος λόγος που δεν μπορώ να σταματήσω να βρίσκομαι πίσω από το bar, είναι όλη αυτή η ενέργεια που ένιωθα να μου επιστρέφει από τον κόσμο που διάλεγε κοκτέιλ, έπινε, χόρευε και περνούσε καλά. Ωσότου ο ήλιος να ξεπροβάλει πίσω από το απέναντι βουνό.Και μπορεί με αφορμή τις madres να μην πήγα διακοπές εκεί που σκόπευα να πάω, αλλά νομίζω ότι κατέληξα εκεί όπου ήθελα να είμαι…στην Ανάφη…

Kumquat is one of the most popular liquers available almost in every shop in Corfu. So, I decided to use the raw fruits to create a simple and sophisticated cocktail which would remind me my birthplace.
Sazerac
Exactly as happened more than 110 years ago with Ramos Gin Fizz, Sazerac is another iconic drink that was amazingly popular. Hopefully, both of those cocktails are still popular and continue to influence what bartenders put in our glasses. Sazerac is one of those old school drinks that could not be created without a kind of bitters and a glass rinsed with aromatic liquers or a touch of absinthe.
Schiedam’s Jenever Museum
JeneverMuseum in Schiedam, is not just another museum. Of course, it is a place that houses historical facts and materials about genever production during the old Dutch days. But at the same time, under the museum’s roof there is plenty of modern equipment which is used nowadays for the production of “the mother of all gins”: The original single malt genever.
A.van Wees distillery de Ooievaar
There is an old Dutch saying which goes like this: “A sailor’s best working compass is a glass completely filled with genever”. A.van Wees distillery de Ooievaar was built in 1782. The distillery is run by Fenny van Wees and the employees are just a few loyal workers. All products are exclusively made of pure natural raw materials, without the addition of artificial flavours. The drinks are coloured with natural colorants. Jenever (in English it is spelled Genever) is a typical Dutch drink. The word means , quite simply, juniper.
