Pisco is a spirit that is getting more and more appreciation from bartenders worldwide. Pisco Sour is one of the best-known cocktails made with Pisco.
The
Pisco Sour has been created in 1916 by Victor Morris, bartender at Morris Bar in Lima, Peru, as the local alternative on the whiskey sour. It became the local’s favorite drink and by the late 1930s it was famous everywhere. The Pisco Sour is the official drink of Peru where it is celebrated during the National Pisco Sour Day. Here is the recipe:
Pisco Sour
- 45 ml Barsol Quebranta Pisco
- 25 ml fresh lemon juice
- 20 ml simple sugar syrup (1:1)
- 2-3 dashes Amargo Chuncho bitters
- 1 egg white
Add all the ingredients into a mixing glass and shake very hard without ice (dry shaking). Open the shaker and add some large ice cubes. Then shake again very hard for another half-minute. Serve straight up into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish, optionally with freshly grated nutmeg and 2-3 more drops of Amargo bitters.
